Professor Charles Kuen Kao (高錕 born November 4, 1933) is the recipient of the world renowned Nobel Prize in Physics in 2009 in recognition for his distinctive contribution to global communications. He is an Alzheimer patient.

This artwork album contains paintings that Professor Kao drew between the years of 2013 and 2015.

Mrs Gwen Kao, as his primary carer, understands the impact of Alzheimer on the individual and family, and support system required. Her experience in caring for Professor Kao in Hong Kong, particularly in the early days, made her realise that there seemed to be no general awareness of this disease, not even a medical doctor in a senior position knew much about it in the Asian population. Hence, the creation of The Charles K. Kao Foundation for Alzheimer's Disease Limited.

raising the public awareness of Alzheimer’s disease, educating the general public on brain healthcare strategies as well as enhancing care and support to Alzheimer's patients, their families and caregivers through The Charles K. Kao Foundation for Alzheimer's Disease Limited, which was founded in 2010 by Professor Charles K. Kao and his wife, Gwen Kao.
